Concrete Drive
Shop & RV Bay Concrete Drive
Cedar City, UT
The problem
The homeowner needed a durable concrete drive in front of a backyard shop and garage with an RV bay. The area was gravel, and the new concrete needed to handle both everyday vehicle traffic and the heavier loads and turning movement from trucks, trailers, and the RV side of the building.
What we did
We excavated the area, installed and compacted a sub-base, then formed the drive with a 6-inch section in front of the RV bay and 4 inches through the remaining area. We installed #3 rebar and used medium-fiber concrete for added reinforcement and crack resistance.
The job
The layout was built around how the homeowner actually uses the property. At the outside corner where the gravel drive wraps around the slab, we formed a 45-degree corner at the homeowner’s request to reduce the chance of a truck or trailer catching a sharp concrete corner and damaging the slab.
