Deck

Multi-Level Composite Deck & Concrete Landing

Cedar City, UT

The problem

The project called for a multi-level deck tied into the existing porch and surrounding grade. Once we laid out the pier locations and checked the elevations on site, we found that the upper section would work better with a different approach.

What we did

We adjusted the layout by using concrete for the upper middle section so it could retain the surrounding dirt and transition cleanly from the existing porch. The lower areas were then built as composite decks, keeping the multi-level layout while working better with the actual site conditions.

The job

This project required some field adjustment as the work came together. By combining a concrete upper section with lower composite decks, we were able to create a practical layout that fit the house, grade, and intended use of the space.
