The problem
The homeowner purchased a pair of Dutch door slabs online expecting a complete door unit, but they arrived as just the two door slabs with no frame, jamb, or hardware setup. The opening also needed a door built to fit the existing house rather than a standard pre-hung unit.
What we did
We built a custom pine door frame and jamb on site to fit the existing opening, then fitted the upper and lower Dutch door slabs, installed the hinges, latch hardware, and remaining components, and adjusted everything so both sections operated correctly and sealed properly.
The job
What started as a simple door installation turned into a custom-built Dutch door setup. Since the slabs did not come as a complete unit, we built the frame around the existing opening and assembled the entire door system on site, giving the homeowner the Dutch door she wanted without having to replace the slabs she had already purchased.
